Affiliate Disclosure
Honesty is the foundation of everything we do at NootroGuide. This page explains, in plain language, how we make money and how that does — and does not — affect what we publish.
What Are Affiliate Links?
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click it and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale as a referral commission. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly — you are never charged more.
How We Use Affiliate Income
Running an independent review site takes time and money — purchasing products to test, conducting research, hosting the website, and paying our contributors. Affiliate commissions allow us to keep NootroGuide free for readers and to remain editorially independent, without relying on intrusive ads or paid placements.
Our Editorial Independence Promise
This is the most important part. Affiliate relationships never influence our ratings, rankings, or opinions. Specifically:
- Brands cannot pay for a positive review. Our scores are based on ingredients, dosing, transparency, clinical evidence, and real-world testing.
- We disclose the downsides. Every review includes honest criticisms, even for products we recommend.
- We recommend products without affiliate programs. If something is genuinely the best option, we’ll say so — even if we earn nothing from it.
- Rankings can hurt our income. Sometimes our top pick pays a lower commission than a lower-ranked product. We rank on merit anyway.
FTC Compliance
In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we clearly disclose our affiliate relationships. You’ll find disclosure notices near affiliate links and within our reviews, in addition to this dedicated page.
Programs We Participate In
NootroGuide participates in various affiliate and referral programs operated by supplement brands and retailers. When you purchase through these links, we may receive compensation. The specific brands we partner with may change over time.
Products We Receive
In some cases, brands send us products to test free of charge. Receiving a free product does not guarantee a review, a positive rating, or any coverage at all. We evaluate free samples by the exact same standards as products we purchase ourselves.
