Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube: Which Nootropic Is Better in 2026?
Mind Lab Pro and NooCube are both caffeine-free multi-ingredient nootropics, but their evidence, formulas and pricing differ substantially. This physician-led comparison examines their current labels, finished-product versus ingredient-level research, memory and focus rationale, safety considerations and value without treating manufacturer marketing as established science.
Mind Lab Pro Is Our Overall Pick — NooCube Wins on Value
Mind Lab Pro is our overall preference for readers who prioritize transparent individual dosing, Cognizin® citicoline, a broader premium formulation and direct human research on the finished commercial product.
Its current formula includes 250 mg Cognizin® citicoline, standardized Bacopa, Lion’s Mane, phosphatidylserine, N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, L-theanine, Rhodiola rosea, maritime pine bark and three B vitamins.
Most importantly for this comparison, Mind Lab Pro now has three published finished-product human studies. Two 2023 studies reported positive findings in selected information-processing and memory outcomes, while a 2025 study found EEG-network changes but no improvement in reaction time or choice accuracy.
NooCube is the stronger value-oriented alternative. Its current v3 formula is caffeine-free and includes 250 mg Bacopa, 250 mg L-tyrosine, 250 mg choline from VitaCholine®, 100 mg L-theanine, 20 mg Panax ginseng concentrate, Lutemax® 2020, resveratrol, pterostilbene and supporting nutrients.
However, NooCube’s current scientific case relies primarily on studies of its individual ingredients. We did not identify a comparable published peer-reviewed randomized trial testing the complete current NooCube v3 formula.
There is also no direct head-to-head clinical trial proving that Mind Lab Pro produces better cognitive outcomes than NooCube.
Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube at a Glance
Both are caffeine-free multi-ingredient cognitive supplements, but their formulation philosophies and evidence structures differ.
Mind Lab Pro emphasizes fully disclosed individual dosing, Cognizin® citicoline, phosphatidylserine, Lion’s Mane and several standardized botanical extracts.

NooCube Pros
- Caffeine-free
- Transparent key ingredient amounts
- 250 mg standardized Bacopa extract
- 250 mg L-tyrosine
- 250 mg VitaCholine® choline
- 100 mg L-theanine
- Includes Panax ginseng
- Includes Lutemax® 2020 carotenoids

NooCube Limitations
• The evidence story relies primarily on studies involving separate ingredients rather than the complete current formula.
• The manufacturer makes broad cognitive and screen-related claims that should be interpreted more cautiously than the advertising language suggests.
• Evidence involving Lutemax® 2020 does not constitute a clinical trial of NooCube.
• Several ingredients have much less convincing direct cognitive evidence than Bacopa or the macular carotenoids.
• The best per-serving price requires a larger upfront multi-bottle purchase.
Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube Ingredients: Which Formula Is Stronger?
A responsible supplement comparison should not simply count ingredients or compare milligrams without context.
Ingredient form, standardization, dose, studied population and duration can all materially change how relevant a research finding is.
1. Choline Strategy: Different Compounds, Not Equivalent Milligrams
Mind Lab Pro supplies 250 mg Cognizin® citicoline.
NooCube lists 250 mg of choline from VitaCholine®.
These are not the same chemical form and should not be treated as equivalent simply because both labels display “250 mg.”
Citicoline has human research across neurological and cognitive contexts. For example, a randomized trial in healthy older adults with age-associated memory impairment used 500 mg/day for 12 weeks and reported improvements in selected memory outcomes.
That study does not establish that the 250 mg dose in Mind Lab Pro will produce the same outcome in a younger healthy population, but Cognizin® gives Mind Lab Pro a more directly recognizable research context.
Our formulation preference: Mind Lab Pro.
2. Bacopa: NooCube Has the Larger Stated Extract Quantity
Both products use standardized Bacopa.
Mind Lab Pro lists 150 mg standardized to 24% bacosides.
NooCube lists 250 mg of a 12:1 extract standardized to 20% bacosides.
NooCube therefore has the larger stated extract weight.
However, Bacopa preparations are not necessarily interchangeable milligram for milligram.
A 2014 meta-analysis of nine randomized placebo-controlled trials involving standardized Bacopa extracts found signals for cognitive effects, particularly speed-of-attention measures, but included chronic treatment periods of at least 12 weeks.
Another systematic review noted that Bacopa trials generally used 300–450 mg/day of different extracts over approximately 12 weeks.
Accordingly, neither label amount should be presented as proof that it reproduces the effect of every standalone Bacopa study.
Label-dose advantage: NooCube.
3. L-Theanine: Essentially Even on Label Quantity
Both products provide 100 mg L-theanine.
L-theanine has human research related to stress, attention and its interaction with caffeine, but neither Mind Lab Pro nor NooCube contains caffeine as part of the standard formula.
A person who combines either product with coffee is creating a different stimulant context than the product itself provides.
4. Tyrosine: Form and Dose Both Differ
NooCube lists 250 mg L-tyrosine.
Mind Lab Pro provides 175 mg N-acetyl-L-tyrosine.
These should not be treated as identical forms or directly ranked only by milligram quantity.
Many classic human tyrosine performance studies have used much larger quantities than either commercial formula, particularly under acute stress or sleep-deprivation conditions.
5. Lion’s Mane: Mind Lab Pro Only
Mind Lab Pro contains 500 mg organic Lion’s Mane mushroom.
Lion’s Mane is scientifically interesting and has some human research, but the evidence base remains relatively small compared with the level of enthusiasm surrounding the ingredient.
Its presence broadens Mind Lab Pro’s formulation, but claims of reliable “neuroregeneration” or large cognitive enhancement would exceed the current human evidence.
6. Phosphatidylserine: Mind Lab Pro Only
Mind Lab Pro provides 100 mg phosphatidylserine.
Phosphatidylserine is an important membrane phospholipid with human research across several clinical and cognitive settings.
NooCube does not currently list phosphatidylserine.
7. Panax Ginseng: NooCube Only
The current NooCube v3.0 formula contains 20 mg Panax ginseng concentrate.
Human research on Panax ginseng has produced some positive cognitive findings, but results depend on the extract, dose, timing and study population.
The existence of ginseng research does not establish the efficacy of the full NooCube formula.
8. Resveratrol, Pterostilbene and Cat’s Claw
NooCube also includes resveratrol, pterostilbene and Cat’s Claw extract.
These ingredients are often marketed using antioxidant, anti-inflammatory or mechanistic arguments.
Mechanistic plausibility should not be confused with strong clinical evidence for meaningful cognitive enhancement in healthy users.
For this comparison, we would regard these as secondary components rather than decisive reasons to choose NooCube.
Which Has Better Scientific Evidence?
This is the most important category separating these products.
NootroGuide distinguishes between ingredient-level evidence and finished-product evidence.
Question 1: Has an ingredient been studied in humans?
Question 2: Was the same ingredient form, extract and dose studied?
Question 3: Was the population similar to the intended commercial user?
Question 4: Has the complete branded formula itself been tested?
Question 5: Was the study randomized appropriately, independently replicated and sufficiently powered?
Mind Lab Pro Finished-Product Research
Mind Lab Pro has a meaningful advantage because three published studies have evaluated the finished commercial formula.
Information Processing in Healthy Adults
A 2023 study of 105 healthy adults reported statistically significant between-group differences favoring Mind Lab Pro for simple reaction time, choice reaction time and anticipation.
This is more directly relevant than extrapolating solely from individual ingredients because the complete formula was tested.
However, the study used pseudo-randomization rather than conventional concealed random allocation and reported grant support from ics-digital.
Memory in Healthy Adults
A separate 2023 study published in Human Psychopharmacology evaluated multiple memory domains.
The treatment group improved across several measures, with statistically significant between-group differences reported for immediate and delayed recall.
Important limitations include the relatively small sample, the imbalanced 36-versus-13 treatment-to-control groups, pseudo-randomization and commercial funding.
Perceptual Decision-Making & EEG Networks
A 2025 study assessed perceptual decision-making alongside EEG measures.
Researchers observed differences in brain-network interdependencies.
However, there was no improvement in choice accuracy or reaction time on the tested task.
That distinction is important because measurable EEG changes should not automatically be presented as evidence of improved real-world cognitive performance.
NooCube Evidence
NooCube’s official research materials primarily present studies involving its individual ingredients.
That evidence is useful for evaluating biological plausibility and ingredient rationale.
However, while updating this comparison, we did not identify a comparable published peer-reviewed randomized placebo-controlled trial evaluating the complete current NooCube v3 formula.
This means a study involving Bacopa, Panax ginseng or Lutemax® 2020 should not be described as though researchers administered NooCube itself.
Mind Lab Pro combines ingredient-level research with published research testing the finished formula. NooCube has scientifically interesting ingredients but currently relies much more heavily on ingredient extrapolation.
What Does the Lutemax® 2020 Research Actually Show?
Lutemax® 2020 is one of NooCube’s most distinctive ingredients.
It provides macular carotenoids including lutein and zeaxanthin isomers.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study enrolled 59 healthy young adults aged approximately 18–25 years and evaluated macular xanthophyll supplementation.
At six months, treated groups showed improvements versus placebo in several cognitive measures, including composite memory, verbal memory, sustained attention, psychomotor speed and processing speed.
The study also reported changes in biological measures such as BDNF and antioxidant/inflammatory markers.
However, several points matter for this NooCube comparison:
- The trial evaluated macular carotenoid supplementation, not NooCube Brain Productivity as a complete formula.
- The study population consisted of healthy young adults.
- The research was funded by the manufacturer of the carotenoid ingredient.
- The study does not prove that NooCube prevents “screen fatigue” or eye disease.
- The presence of Lutemax® 2020 does not establish that every advertised NooCube cognitive claim is clinically proven.
Which Is Better for Focus and Productivity?
Because neither product contains caffeine, neither should automatically be expected to feel like coffee, an energy drink or a stimulant-heavy focus product.
NooCube includes L-tyrosine, VitaCholine®, L-theanine, Bacopa and Panax ginseng, giving it a reasonable caffeine-free productivity rationale.
Its Lutemax® component may also be interesting for people performing visually intensive work, although this should not be converted into a claim that NooCube clinically prevents screen-related fatigue.
Mind Lab Pro takes a broader approach through citicoline, phosphatidylserine, N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, L-theanine, Rhodiola and additional components.
More importantly, Mind Lab Pro has direct product-level information-processing research rather than relying entirely on its ingredients.
Overall focus/evidence preference: Mind Lab Pro.
Lower-cost caffeine-free productivity alternative: NooCube.
Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube for Memory
Memory is one of the strongest areas of overlap because both formulas contain standardized Bacopa.
NooCube has the larger stated Bacopa extract quantity: 250 mg versus Mind Lab Pro’s 150 mg.
Mind Lab Pro, however, combines Bacopa with Cognizin® citicoline and phosphatidylserine and has a published finished-product memory study.
NooCube’s Lutemax® 2020 ingredient also has human evidence relevant to memory, but that research evaluated the carotenoid ingredient combination rather than NooCube.
If your only criterion is stated Bacopa extract weight, NooCube wins that narrow category.
If you are evaluating the overall evidence structure for memory, Mind Lab Pro has the stronger case.
Are Mind Lab Pro and NooCube Caffeine-Free?
Yes.
Both current formulas are caffeine-free.
This can be useful for people who already consume coffee or tea, want to control caffeine independently or prefer to avoid stimulant exposure.
Caffeine-free does not mean free of adverse effects or interactions, however.
Both products contain multiple biologically active botanical and nutritional ingredients.
Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube: Price and Value
NooCube currently has the clearer price advantage, especially when purchasing multiple bottles.
One-time purchase · 30 standard two-capsule servings
That works out to approximately $2.30 per standard serving.
The monthly subscription is currently listed around $62.10.
The four-bottle Smart subscription is currently $207, equivalent to approximately $51.75 per bottle or about $1.73 per standard serving.
Check Current Price →Current single-purchase price · 60 capsules
With a standard two-capsule daily serving, that is approximately $2.17 per serving.
Current three-month single-purchase pricing is $129.99, or approximately $1.44 per standard serving.
The five-month package is currently $194.99, or approximately $1.30 per standard serving.
Check Current Price →NooCube is slightly cheaper on a one-bottle comparison and substantially cheaper per serving when using its largest current multi-bottle offer.
Mind Lab Pro’s higher price is easier to defend for buyers who specifically value Cognizin®, full dose transparency and direct finished-product research.
Prices checked August 28, 2026. Subscriptions, sales, shipping charges, regional pricing and manufacturer promotions can change.
Safety, Side Effects and Medical Considerations
Caffeine-free does not mean risk-free.
Both formulas contain multiple biologically active ingredients that may produce gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, dizziness, sleep changes or other adverse effects in susceptible users.
Botanical ingredients may also interact with prescription medicines or be inappropriate in certain medical circumstances.
Ingredient Duplication
Taking Mind Lab Pro and NooCube together would duplicate several functional categories, including Bacopa, L-theanine, tyrosine-related ingredients, choline-related ingredients and B vitamins.
That increases complexity and makes it more difficult to identify the cause of either benefit or adverse effects.
Consider discussing supplement use with an appropriate healthcare professional if you:
- take prescription medications;
- use anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines;
- have cardiovascular disease or arrhythmias;
- have significant anxiety or sleep problems;
- have a neurological condition;
- are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- are preparing for surgery;
- have another significant medical condition; or
- already use several overlapping supplements.
Neither Mind Lab Pro nor NooCube should replace professional assessment of persistent memory problems, concentration difficulty, fatigue, sleep disturbance or mood symptoms.

How This Physician-Led Comparison Was Evaluated
NootroGuide’s editorial approach goes beyond asking whether a formula contains popular ingredients.
The comparison was structured around questions including:
- Are active ingredients and doses disclosed?
- What ingredient forms and extracts are being used?
- Does relevant human research exist?
- Does the studied dose resemble the commercial dose?
- Was the research population relevant to typical users?
- Were findings independently replicated?
- Are study limitations and funding relationships visible?
- Has the finished commercial formula itself been investigated?
- What adverse effects and interaction concerns may matter?
- How does current pricing compare on both one-bottle and multi-bottle bases?
This distinction is especially important in supplement science because a plausible biological mechanism is not the same as a demonstrated clinically meaningful outcome.
Similarly, results in older adults, clinical populations or people with nutrient deficiencies should not automatically be generalized to every healthy adult seeking a nootropic.
Our goal is to make the confidence of the conclusion reflect the strength and relevance of the evidence.

Final Verdict: Mind Lab Pro vs NooCube
Mind Lab Pro — Best Overall
Mind Lab Pro wins our overall 2026 comparison.
The reason is not simply that it contains more fashionable ingredients.
Its strongest advantages are the combination of complete dose transparency, Cognizin® citicoline, standardized extracts, phosphatidylserine, a broad caffeine-free ingredient profile and direct published research evaluating the finished commercial formula.
The evidence should still be described conservatively.
Two 2023 trials used pseudo-randomization, one had a small and substantially imbalanced sample, commercial funding or grant support is present within the product research base, and the 2025 study found EEG-network changes without improvements in reaction time or choice accuracy.
Therefore, “Mind Lab Pro has the stronger evidence structure” is a more defensible conclusion than “Mind Lab Pro is clinically proven to work better for everyone.”
NooCube
NooCube finishes second overall, but it is not simply a weaker copy of Mind Lab Pro.
Its formula makes different choices.
The larger stated Bacopa extract quantity, conventional L-tyrosine, VitaCholine®, Panax ginseng and Lutemax® 2020 give it a legitimate identity of its own.
Lutemax® has human research relevant to macular carotenoids and selected cognitive outcomes, but this should be recognized as ingredient research rather than a finished-product NooCube trial.
NooCube’s strongest commercial advantage is value.
At current pricing, its largest bundle is substantially cheaper per standard serving than either the one-time Mind Lab Pro purchase or Mind Lab Pro’s subscription options.
Choose Mind Lab Pro if transparent dosing, premium ingredient forms and finished-product clinical research are your highest priorities.
Choose NooCube if lower cost, a larger stated Bacopa extract quantity, VitaCholine®, Panax ginseng and Lutemax® 2020 better match your priorities.
There is no direct head-to-head trial establishing that either product is universally superior.

Is Mind Lab Pro better than NooCube?
NootroGuide prefers Mind Lab Pro overall because of its full individual-dose transparency, Cognizin® citicoline, phosphatidylserine and three published finished-product studies. NooCube may be the better choice when price, its larger stated Bacopa quantity or Lutemax® 2020 are higher priorities. No direct head-to-head clinical trial proves that Mind Lab Pro produces superior cognitive outcomes.
Which has better clinical evidence?
Mind Lab Pro has the stronger finished-product evidence structure because three published studies have evaluated the complete formula. NooCube’s current evidence case relies primarily on studies involving individual ingredients, including Bacopa and the carotenoids used in Lutemax® 2020.
Does NooCube have a clinical trial on the complete formula?
NootroGuide did not identify a comparable published peer-reviewed randomized placebo-controlled trial evaluating the complete current NooCube v3 formula while updating this comparison. Studies of individual ingredients should not be described as clinical trials of NooCube itself.
Is NooCube cheaper than Mind Lab Pro?
Yes at the prices checked in August 2026. NooCube was $64.99 for one bottle compared with $69 for Mind Lab Pro. NooCube’s larger bundles reduce the effective cost further, with the current five-bottle package priced at $194.99.
Do Mind Lab Pro and NooCube contain caffeine?
No. Both current standard formulas are caffeine-free.
Which product contains more Bacopa?
NooCube currently lists 250 mg of a 12:1 Bacopa extract standardized to 20% bacosides. Mind Lab Pro lists 150 mg of a full-spectrum extract standardized to 24% bacosides. Different extracts should not be assumed to be clinically equivalent based only on total milligram weight.
Does Lutemax 2020 make NooCube clinically proven?
No. Lutemax® 2020 has human research on macular carotenoid supplementation, including a randomized placebo-controlled study in healthy young adults. That research is relevant to the ingredient but is not a clinical trial of the complete NooCube formula.
Which is better for studying?
Mind Lab Pro is our preferred premium all-round choice because of its broader formulation and finished-product evidence. NooCube may appeal more to students prioritizing cost or its carotenoid-containing formula. Neither product replaces adequate sleep, nutrition, physical activity or effective study methods.
Which is better for memory?
NooCube has the larger stated Bacopa extract quantity. Mind Lab Pro combines Bacopa with citicoline and phosphatidylserine and has direct finished-product memory research. For that reason, Mind Lab Pro has the stronger overall memory-evidence case in this comparison.
Can I take Mind Lab Pro and NooCube together?
NootroGuide does not routinely recommend combining the two complete formulas. They overlap in several functional ingredient categories, and combining broad stacks increases complexity without good evidence that the combination provides superior results.
Are either Mind Lab Pro or NooCube treatments for ADHD?
No. Dietary supplements should not be treated as substitutes for appropriate evaluation, diagnosis or evidence-based treatment of ADHD.
